Eldo Bar Jam Night

Eldo Bar is well known in the Essex Area for its fantastic Jam Night which is hosted every other Thursday by Craig Garrod from Frisco Monk and Simon Lipscombe from Popgun with some guest hosts on other weeks.

Craig Garrod

Craig Garrod is an experienced and vastly knowledgeable musician and teacher with a degree in music that has offered his instructive services in the Tendring area since 2010. Alongside guitar tuition, he is also a professional performer playing lead guitar for disoc funk band Frisco Monk and as a composer writing music for TV and film. He is often commended for his skill and versatility not only a guitarist but as a bassist too.

Simon Lipscombe

Simon started his career in music at the age of 16 working as a session musician for various tribute and cover bands as well as finding success in his own original band where he’s played alongside such acts as Level 42, Reef, Orbital, Status Quo, NDubz and Human League as well as appearing in a 8 page article in Sugar Magazine. In 2010 Simon formed one of the most successful tribute bands in the UK playing hundreds of shows all over the UK as well as Europe including the 02 Academy and Guilfest. Simon is always on hand at Jam Nights to play drums, bass, guitar, piano and vocals.

We ask that all guitarists bring their own guitar if possible, we have space to store cases in the venue so they don’t get in the way.

We always welcome new musicians here and try to accommodate to everyone needs who are wanting to get involved by having a sound technician on standby when needed. In the past we have had a range of musicians playing Saxophone, Harmonica, Piano and even Violin and always welcome new musicians.

As always are Jam Night is free to everyone whether you’re a musician or just want to come down and watch some great music.

Unlike other Jam Nights we don’t work on a slot system where you put your name down and wait your turn. At Eldo Jam Night we have a come up and join in attitude and so far has created some amazing moments in the past, however we understand that some musicians might want to try out some stuff solo and that can be arranged on the night by speaking to one of our hosts. At Eldo Bar we make sure that every musician that wants to play gets the chance too and our hosts are always on hand to help on guitar drums or bass if needed.
